Superchargers, Turbos and high horsepower LS motors is something this North San Diego performance shop knows well.
Mech Tech offers 3 stages of the LS series motors. Mech Tech's Stage 1 package comes with a new factory crate LS-2 crate engine that has a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. This setup also comes with the following components; new Stage 4 9-inch clutch with chromoly flywheel, 120 amp alternator and mount, custom headers, Aeromotive billet fuel pressure regulator, 90mm FAST throttle body, MEFI-4 computer and harness, K&N air filter, pre-filter and adaptor. According to Mech Tech, the Stage 1 package puts out around 460bhp.
The Stage 2 package includes all of the same components used in the Stage 1 kit, with the addition of CNC ported big valve heads, dual high-rev valve springs and titanium retianers, heavy duty chromoly push rods, ARP rod bolts and a custom grind roller cam shaft from Crower. This engine package according to Mech Tech produces about 540bhp.
The stage 3 kit that Mech Tech builds includes everything from both stages 1 and 2, combined with the addition of it being built up to a 402 cubic inch stroker. The stage 3 kit is a twin turbocharged model, so it includes two turbos, waste gates and everything needed to produce a reliable 820 to 1,000bhp. This engine package utilizes a 4340 billet chromoly crank, 4340 H-beam rods, manley forged pistons, moly rings, lightweight wrist pins and a set of Clevite engine bearings.
